Bryn Tirion is a snug and cosy self-contained apartment within the owners 17th century stone-built cottage. It exists within a beautiful location overlooking the Alyn River and on towards Moel Fammau.

The Vale of Clwyd is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is a paradise for walkers and nature-lovers, with many miles of rolling countryside footpaths and walkways. We welcome walkers and cyclists.

Local activities include walking, cycling, swimming, a fitness centre, horse-riding, fishing and paragliding to name a few. Also, nearby are many historic castles, gardens, craft centres, cinemas and the landmark of the area – Theatr Clwyd.

Our Self Catering Apartment

The apartment has its own entrance, past the cottage and up the old stone stairway. The accommodation is perfect for two people and is decorated throughout with great attention to detail, in a traditional country style. It is comprised of a pretty beamed living-room with a well equipped kitchen, including a full sized cooker, microwaves oven and fridge, with all the usual utensils – pots and pans etc.

Sleep and dream in our beautiful period bedroom, attractively furnished in old pine. A wrought iron bedstead combined with Laura Ashley Bedlinen and towels makes for an exquisite stay.

We welcome all our guests to our apartment with a welcome pack containing home made cake, fresh bread, wine and chocolates.

Private parking, heating, electricity and WiFi are inclusive to all our rates of stay,  plus television and all linen. We apologise that we do not allow pets and the cottage is strictly no smoking.

Things to do

There is plenty to keep you busy in this area including The Loggerheads and Moel Fammau Country Park, both very much in the local vicinity. Only 35 miles away lies the picturesque location of Snowdonia and within 18 miles is Llangollen with its famous steam railway.

Nearby the Market Towns of Mold and Ruthin have plenty to offer and if you continue on for 15 miles, you will find yourself within the historic City Walls of Roman Chester. Excellent shopping facilities make for a great day out.

Alternatively, you could just spend a lazy day relaxing in our pretty cottage garden. Sit and day-dream by the pond or take a small stroll around our 3 acres of natural meadow and woodland. To round off the day, there are many superb local inns and restaurants within walking distance, tempting you with their culinary expertise.

Guestbook & Reviews

Below are some of the lovely reviews left on TripAdvisor over the years.

“This wonderful little cottage is something out of a storybook or Movie! It is one of those Jems that I am so happy to have found.

Not only is the garden and surrounding areas just a little bit of heaven but the cottage itself is beautiful, cute and cosy. Great to cuddle up on the sofa with a hot chocolate or glass of wine after a long walk in the hills.

And then there are your hosts – they are the perfect of hosts that may leave little arrival suprises which are the perfect cherry on top of the cake. They are also so kind and happy to help with any information that you might need during your stay.

Definitely would recommend to anyone wanting a get away retreat!!

Thank you Sylvia and John!”

Wonderful walking, wonderful scenery, very friendly and kind helpful hosts, every possible attention to detail in the cottage for cleanliness and comfort. BRYN TIRION COTTAGE made me feel I was in another world. Super pubs and cafes to enjoy in the Alyn and Clwydian valleys, with the opportunity to visit the north Wales coast, which is not far away.

Highly recommended and I look forward to returning to this magical cottage nestling in the Alyn valley, which I discovered in 2017, once again next year. Thank you John and Sylvia 😀👍”

“What a beautiful place, such a warm welcome from Sylvia and John. Very accommodating hosts. The rooms are decorated beautifully and immaculately clean. The cottage is a ‘proper’ cottage and has amazing views and is situated for fantastic walks or to just sit and chill and enjoy the garden and it’s surroundings, I would imagine it will be even more beautiful in summer and autumn. Will definitely be back. Thank you”
